Tina: Haven't Talked to Ike in 35 Years

Tina Turner's rep issued the following statement about the death of the music legend's former husband Ike.

"Tina is aware that Ike passed away earlier today," the rep told TMZ. "She has not had any contact with him in 35 years. No further comment will be made."

Simply the best.

48. Whatever Tina thinks, or whatever the public thinks, Ike Turner was a brilliant business man! If not for his marketing skills, there would be no Tina Turner, nor Ikettes. It's all about forgiveness, and it takes some people a long time to learn forgiveness no matter what the religion or spiritual practice they profess. Ike may have had severe behavior problems, but he acknowledged what he did and died very sorry for it. How many of us can acknowledge what we've done? These issues of behavior, forgiveness, etc., all must be addressed before one passes over in order to die happy.

50. I'd rather Tina not said anything that release that cold, heartless statement. Don't they have children together? Do they hate Ike too? He's the reason they are filthy rich.

54. That was a pc statement. Also, Tina is lyin or she cant count. They didnt get a divorce until 1978. 35 years means its 2013 instead of 2007.

55. As a performer my thanks to the man for the music, as for his personal life, may he find forgiveness for any bad deeds he bestowed upon anyone during his stay on this earth. May he rest in peace.

56. That's a lie about not talking to him in 35 years. In the movie, What's Love Got to Do with It, he supposedly was in her dressing room threating her before a performance around the time she put out her first solo album. That was in the early eighties. You do the math. Maybe what was depicted in the movie was a lie, but it was an autobiography, right?

58. Take It Easy People, That Was the Past - I Played Guitar for Ike In 2005
And He was Not A Bad Human Being - Everybody has Problems
And He Payed His Debt. - Lets Not Forget He Discovered Tina and She may not be where she is today if it was not for Ike
Ike Had Many Good Contributions to Music. As Well as helping Lots of People.
That Does not Excuse the Abuse But it was the 70's - Lots of People were Dysfunctional and on Drugs. I know cause I was there. Lots of couples Fought.
They were just in the Limelight.
So those of you who are Casting Stones Right Back At you Pukes.
Bet your parents fought Too.

60. The Rep said "35 years", and was probably just guessing or exaggerating. Still, nice to say "no futher comments" to avoid the friging "How do you feel?" from the media.
