347. I think Mary J. Blige and Patti LaBelle are talented singers and i do like their music. I personally don't think fur coats are attractive but that is just my opinion. I don't agree with the inhumane and cruel ways animals are slaughtered for food or fashion. And I also don't agree with some of the actions of PETA, sometimes they go too far. Its a free country and we do have choices, so I choose to NOT wear fur, NOT eat animals, NOT buy leather products and NOT buy products that test on animals. (However, there are so many products/meds/etc. that do test on animals that are necessary for people) so you can't be completely cruelty-free in this modern world. I'm not going to tell other people how to live their lives but i'd wish more people were aware of animal cruelty and maybe they would choose to not help contribute to it.

348. Yes i LOVE animals and i also LOVE people. And this pisses me off! Why is it that some people think just because you stand up for animals that you only love animals and hate humans?!!! That is the most ridiculous thing i've seen typed on this board and others! What a bunch of clueless people! Why is it that when i stand up for animal rights that i get idiots who comment i should be supporting or caring more about human rights instead?!!!I do support human rights by volunteering at homeless shelters and for victims of abuse, donating my time and money to help the hungry and needy. There has to be people like us who care for animals also! Animals can't speak for themselves. Animals have feelings just like people but they can't communicate to humans that they don't want to be skinned for a fur coat. Get a grip people, not every animal lover belongs to PETA. I am against the fur trade that kills these animals in such a cruel way just for their fur!!!!! Killing an animal for meat is different because its for basic survival, we need food. If you take a look at primitive cultures they hunt and kill animals but use every part of the animal for something! Animals hunt, kill and eat other animals for food, not for their fur!!! Humans are stupid and kill an animal just because. I don't support people who wear fur but if thats what they want to do then so be it, i'm not gonna make rude comments or go throw some red paint on them. That is just plain stupid and not everyone who wears fur knows what the true story is, they need to be educated. I am happy that someone who loves animals took the time to share and educate me about animal cruelty. I was naive and didn't know anything like this went on. Now i educate children and adults who are interested in learning about this and no i don't force my opinions on other people and tell them to be fur-free or vegan!!! Chill out and stop getting mad at me for standing up for animals as well!!!!!

333. What you peta people have seen is their propaganda videos. In any industry there are people who behave badly. Skinning animals alive is NOT the norm in the fur farm industry. My uncle owns a fur farm and the animals are killed humanely as is REQUIRED by law in the USA. Should we all stop eating in restaurants because the health department finds violations in some of them every year. Should we all stop driving cars because some have recalls each year. Not all animals killed for fur are killed in the way PETA shows, not all turkeys at Butterball are "molested" etc. PETA's only goal is to eliminate ALL of man's association with animals. Guess what. Wool is a renewable resource. And you don't have to kill the sheep to get it. And you don't have to kill an animal, OR a plant, to get cotton.

TMZ mentioned PETA, but many of the comments here come from far less radical sources. Many of us are opposed to killing animals for vanity. Yes, I wear shoes made of leather. But I won't wear a belt made out of elephant or a coat made from a leopard skin. There is a difference. No one that I know of eats elephant. We do eat animals, we are at the top of the food chain, but that doesn't mean we have to loose sight of the sacrifice a living thing makes so that we may survive. Wearing fur is no longer about survival. I may eat meat, but I don't do so because I envy the way it looks, or hope that by consuming it, I will look rich or powerful.

Chinchillas, mink, foxes - they are all beautiful creatures. We don't kill them because they are vermin, or in some way threaten our survival, or because we need to for our survival. We kill them because they are beautiful.

How sick is that?

Typically, people who care about animal rights also care about all of the other issues and speak out against all of the terrible aspects in the world. It is wrong to torture and kill, period, no matter who the victim is.

Even if you're not ethical, moral or spiritual enough to say 'no' to the slaughter of animals, at least look at your butt in mirror before you leave the house. AND as for that "Old Hollywood Glamour" crap, you'd have to add a cigarette and martini to be true "Old Hollywood." Wouldn't that be chic and glamourous too??? Nothing says glamour like an innocent animal electrocuted anally or vaginally so you can wear their coat. 357. PETA has been found quilty of misrepresenting fur industry methods. They were sued in a European court and could not defend their position. They obtain videos of someone who is obviously not following legal practices, then they pass it off as what goes on everywhere. This is a dishonest tactic designed to stoke emotional responses which, judging by comments here, is a successful tactic. Particularly vulnerable to this tactic are young people and women, who can be prone to guilt feelings. PETA is a horrible organization that cares nothing about animals.

358. By the way, animals are not skinned alive for their fur; this may take place in other countries, but certainly not in the western world where the industry is heavily regulated. Don't believe everything PETA tells you, and don't assume its pictures and videos are from legitimate sources.
